Servers

Position Summary
Servers are the front line people. Servers are the people who share the knowledge and passion of the Farmers Table philosophy of food, health, and wellness with our guests. The wait staff are salespeople, not order takers!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Ability to thrive, multitask and execute our service standards in a high volume environment
  • Complete knowledge of restaurant’s food and beverage preparation, pricing, and presentation
  • Ability to sell alcohol and food items, as well as upselling
  • Must complete training program and food & beverage test
  • Proficiency in Micros operating system
  • Positive guest interaction and effective crisis management
  • Fast, efficient, and correct cash and payment handling at all times
  • Maintain side-work and ensure the cleanliness of assigned section and side stations in a high volume environment
  • Assisting bussers with clearing and setting of tables during peak service
  • Responsible alcohol management
  • Reporting to work with a clean uniform every day. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential

Minimum Qualifications
  • Legal working status and/or residency in U.S. with proper documentation
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Proficient reading and writing skill set
  • Full open availability for the first 90 days including, but not limited to, holidays, weekends, mornings, and nights
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a mid-to-high volume restaurant
  • Consistent and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to suggestively sell and upsell food items and alcohol
  • Florida Serve Safe certification (we provide this as well on a quarterly basis)
  • Must be of legal age according to State regulations to serve alcohol
  • Punctuality is a must. We consider on time to be 15 minutes early!

Bartender

Position Summary
Bartenders extend Farmer’s Table’s philosophy of amazing quality product and service through our garden to glass cocktails, craft beer selection, and a commitment to building regular and return guests having their meal at the bar instead of the table.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Responsible alcohol management and Serve Safe certification (we provide training for this as well)
  • Prepare of all bar fruit & garnishes ensuring proper rotation of mixers and product
  • Restock of all bottles of liquor, wine, and beer before and at the end of each shift
  • Very strong communication skills and a think ahead mentality
  • Welcome each guest in a prompt and friendly passion within one (1) minute of arrival
  • Work with other bar staff members to ensure the high standard of service, as well as keep the bar area clean and presentable at all times
  • Serve mixed drinks with a strong knowledge of all recipes both in house and general cocktails
  • Ability to work service bar and serve guests in a prompt and friendly manner.
  • Fast, efficient, and correct cash handling
  • Wash bar glassware behind bar
  • Constant and immediate management of keeping bar tabs up to date and in front of guest
  • Other duties as directed on a day to day basis
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
  • Legal working status in the U.S. and/or residency with proper documentation
  • The physical ability to continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop, wipe and remain stationary for long periods of time
  • The physical ability to be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a mid to high volume restaurant preferred
  • Full open availability for the first 90 days including but not limited to holidays, weekends, mornings, and night
  • Legal age to serve liquor according to state law
  • Basic mathematical, reading and computer skills
  • Existing knowledge and passion of beer, wine and spirits, and food
  • Strong ability to multitask in a friendly and organized fashion in a high volume environment

Line Cook

Position Summary
Farmers Table is a new concept always looking for aspiring chefs who are passionate and committed to our clean eating movement. Line Cooks need to be diverse in all stations of the kitchen.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Prepare or directs preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems
  • Determine amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems
  • Ensure availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation
  • Comply with established sanitation standards/regulations, personal hygiene, and health standards
  • Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques
  • Store food properly and safely by marking dates and items
  • Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance needs
  • Correctly prepare all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders
  • Apportion food for serving
  • Maintain daily production records
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned on a day to day basis
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
  • Legal working status in U.S. and/or residency with proper documentation
  • Proficient interpersonal relations and verbal communicative skills
  • Flexible availability including but not limited to holidays, weekends, mornings and nights

  • The physical ability to be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • The ability to follow written/ oral instructions and procedures in a fast paced high volume environment
  • Previous mid to high volume restaurant experience strongly preferred
  • The ability to stay calm and work efficiently under pressure while managing time effectively
  • The ability to read menu recipes, and pertinent work place documents

Food Runners

Position Summary
Food Runners are responsible for delivery of food to all tables and bar guests, ensuring the proper presentation and temperature of all items in a fast, friendly, and efficient manner. Food Runners are also responsible for assisting the chef on duty with preparation and restocking of items for the line and soup station.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Strong knowledge of all food items and ingredients in house
  • Ensure proper presentation and temperature when food exits the kitchen
  • A friendly, hardworking, teamwork-oriented mindset
  • Keep expo line and soup station cleaned, restocked, and presentable at all times
  • Support waiters and kitchen staff in other duties as required on a day to day basis
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned on a day to day basis
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
  • Legal working status in U.S. and/or residency with proper documentation
  • The physical ability to maintain proper balance while walking briskly carrying food laden trays
  • Previous mid to high volume restaurant experience preferred
  • The physical ability to continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop, wipe and remain stationary for long periods of time
  • The physical ability to be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • The ability to stay calm and work efficiently under pressure
  • Strong verbal communication skills required
  • Flexible availability including but not limited to holidays, weekends, mornings and nights

Busser

Position Summary
Bussers are the backbone of the operation. Bussers are responsible for the clearing and re-setting of tables, as well as the overall cleanliness of the restaurant and facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Clear and re-setting of all tables when guests leave the restaurant in a fast, efficient, and thorough manner
  • Sweep floors under and around all tables and dining room areas during service
  • Set-up and breakdown tables and umbrellas both inside and out
  • Replenish glassware, deliver of ice, and remove of bus tubs to both bars
  • Physical ability to continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop, wipe and remain stationary for long periods of time
  • Perform cleaning side work when assigned on a day to day basis
  • Keep a constant line of communication with other bus staff to work together towards the same goal
  • Support waiters and kitchen staff in other duties as required
  • Remove of trash bins from all areas of restaurant and bathrooms
  • Perform bathroom and side station checks to ensure all areas are properly stocked with tissues and hand towels
  • Perform any other work-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
  • Basic level reading comprehension
  • Legal working status in U.S. and/or residency with proper documentation
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a mid to high volume restaurant
  • The physical ability to lift and carry heavy boxes and bus tubs up to 35 lbs.
  • Previous high volume restaurant experience preferred
  • The ability to stay calm and a positive can do attitude
  • The ability to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Reporting to work with a clean uniform every day. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential
  • Availability that includes days, nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays

Barista / Takeout

Position Summary
At Farmers Table, there is a separate counter for guests to either call or come in person to order food to go. The Barista / Takeout person is also responsible for making all coffee drinks and specialty teas for the tables in a fast, efficient manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Strong knowledge of all food items and coffee drinks in house
  • Ability to work fast and friendly under pressure in a high volume environment
  • Fast, efficient, and correct cash handling
  • Very strong communication skills both in person and over the phone
  • A friendly, hardworking, teamwork-oriented mindset
  • Proficiency in restaurant POS system
  • Keep station cleaned, restocked, and presentable at all times ensuring proper rotation of product
  • Support waiters and kitchen staff in other duties as required on a day to day basis
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned on a day to day basis

Host / Hostesses

Position Summary
Hosts/Hostesses are the first and last impression of the restaurant the guests see. The host staff takes all restaurant reservations, phone calls, as well as greet and seat guests in a warm professional manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Greet and seat guests, presenting clean menus to them when seated
  • Answer all phone calls, take all reservations, and take messages for anyone not available in a lively and professional manner
  • Responsible for proper plotting of tables ensuring fair rotation of tables to wait staff and adhering to proper reservation times for large groups
  • Observe dining room and perform table checks to alert expeditor of tables that are on bus, cleared, and on desserts or paying check
  • Communicate with other hosts on duty as well as bussers to properly set up tables for large groups
  • Take guest information and quote wait to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available
  • Clean, organize and stock menus at host area. Responsible for cleaning entrance and exit windows both front and back
  • Answer phone questions concerning the menu and restaurant, daily specials, and special events happening
  • Ensure a positive dining experience for all guests from arrival to departure
  • Maintain restrooms throughout shift as well as re-stocking paper products in restrooms
  • Calm and effective crisis management
  • Other job related duties as directed on a day to day basis
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
  • Legal working status in U.S. and/or residency with proper documentation
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and verbally interact with management and all other staff members and guests
  • Intermediate reading, writing, and communication skills
  • Restaurant experience preferred but not necessary
  • Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task in a high volume environment
